Malipiero was born April 20th,1906 in Padua,Italy. He is one of my favorite tenors to listen to. Sadly, he has been all but forgotten. Malipiero had an extraordinary lyrical tenor voice and this is one of the most beautiful interpretations of this aria ever recorded. Giovanni Malipiero died just ten days prior to his 64th birthday on April 10th,1970.
